Oluoch Kariuki has announced a solo show on the 14th of December at the Kenya National Theatre.
Dubbed, The Jokes Shall Set You Free, the show will be the comedian’s first solo outing.
The Jokes Shall Set You Free has been months in the making, and it was initially supposed to happen on September 7 in Kariuki’s hometown of Nakuru but it got pushed back.
“We have a date y’all. On the 14th of December, we will be laughing our way to freedom.” Oluoch said in an Instagram post announcing the show.
This has been a relatively busy year for the comedian which saw him perform at Punchline Comedy Club’s annual Distant Relatives Comedy Festival in May. The festival brings comedians of black descent from all over the world for two nights of stand-up comedy in Nairobi.
He also recently did a tour of Uganda where he performed for three successive nights.
Oluoch is aiming to document his growth and standing in the Kenyan stand-up comedy scene in this coming-of-age project.
