Four of Nairobi’s top comedians, namely David Macharia, Amandeep Jagde, Maina Murumba and Ahmed Mire are scheduled to perform in the coastal suburbs of Nyali and Vipingo on 8th and 9th February respectively.
The Nyali show will take place at 10th Street Garden while in Vipingo the show will happen at Asian Kitchen Vipingo Market.
This coastal trip is one of many such outings that have taken place in recent times with the region increasingly looking like a viable comedy destination for working comedians in Nairobi.
In December, Amandeep and David performed their co-headliner show, Bubblegum (Slight Return) at Makaazi, Nyali before also taking part in a Karura Comedy Club curated showcase in Voi that also included Emmanuel Kisiangani, George Waweru and Bashir Halaiki.
In the same month, Adan Abdi also performed at Makaazi as part of his Slippery World tour, a show that featured David Macharia among other comedians.
A week before the four heavyweights touch down at the coast, Emmanuel Kisiangani, Bashir Halaiki and George Waweru will be staging a show at Makaazi, dubbed The Comedy Jam; Mombasa.
