Nairobi Laugh Bar Presents; The Mancunian Canuck

Canadian comedian Evan Desmarais will be performing at the Nairobi Laugh Bar on the 23rd of November in a show entitled, The Mancunian Canuck.

The Manchester-based comedian will be in the country as part of a stand-up comedy exchange program between Nairobi and Manchester.

The unprecedented partnership that kicked off last month will see several Kenyan comedians fly out to perform in Manchester, and vice versa with the aim of learning from each other and creating a robust system that will enable even bigger future collaborations.

Kenya’s Doug Mutai who is the founder of Standup Collective and the Nairobi Laugh Bar has already been to Manchester where he performed in more than a dozen rooms courtesy of the program.

A world-touring comedian, Desmarais has performed on some of the biggest stages in Canada, England and Australia, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in comedy like Jim Jeffries and Chris Hardwick. He is the founder of Creatures Comedy Club.

Desmarais will perform at the Laugh Bar for one night only. Joining him on stage will be Kenya’s own Ciku Waithaka and Amandeep Jagde.

Tickets to the Mancunian Canuck are on sale and can be purchased from the Standup Collective website.
