Maandamano Baby; Mammito Eunice Delivers

Mammito Eunice delivered an electrifying performance of her one-man show, Maandamano Baby on Friday 20th at the Jain Bhavan Auditorium in Loresho.

The show, which had been months in the making, entirely lived up to the hype and further cemented Mammito’s status as one of the best in the game.

Despite the weekend being stacked with several high-profile events and festivals across the city, she still pulled a considerable crowd, almost selling out the 800-plus seater auditorium.

Mammito has slowly but surely grown into a force to reckon with since her Churchill days and this was on full display on the night. She connected with the audience on a different level. Very few entertainers can match that ability.

From self-deprecation to relationships to politics, her material was informed and well-rounded; the political material especially resonated well with the audience. The embattled Kenyan President would have hated to be in the room.

South Africa’s Vafa Naraghi, who enjoys a close working relationship with Mammito also performed on the night; as did George Waweru, and Emmanuel Kisiangani.

But even as Mammito takes some time off to herself to reflect on a job well done, one thing we all know for sure is that she will no doubt deliver before Ruto.
