Nu-Africa Pamoja Foundation is the newest entrant to the Nairobi Stand-Up comedy scene with a planned open mic room in 2025.
Entitled Laughs In Thika Road, the inaugural open mic will take place on Saturday 11th January at the foundation’s headquarters located near St. Joseph Health Centre, Kahawa Wendani and will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A brainchild of singer-songwriter-cum-comedian, Seroney, Nu-Africa Pamoja Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on empowering young people in such areas as sports, fashion, music, film and photography.
The organization’s entry into stand-up comedy should be a welcome development for young aspiring comedians in Wendani and the surrounding neighborhoods.
The location of the room is also strategic as Kahawa Wendani boasts a huge youthful population thanks to its proximity to Kenyatta University. It also houses several student hostels.
Through this project, Nu-Africa Pamoja Foundation is aiming to follow in the footsteps of Punchline Comedy Club by nurturing young comedians and equipping them with skills that will enable them to monetize their talents.
Entry to the open mic is by RSVP through mobile phone number; 0705059188.
