Kugongwa Ni Constant; An All-Girls Affair

Comics Justine Wanda, Ruth Nyambura and Ciku Waithaka will all be taking to the stage on Friday, 21st March at the Nairobi Laugh Bar for a show entitled Kugongwa Ni Constant.

As the name suggests, the show’s overaching theme will be the struggles of dating in Nairobi.

According to Justine, Kugongwa Ni Constant will not adhere to the traditional format of stand-up comedy showcases but will rather see the three acts on stage together improve style-like.

Justine, Ciku, and Ruth are three of the most experienced female comedians in the Nairobi comedy scene, all of them boasting years of comedic experience.

Ciku is enjoying a rejuvenated year stage-wise as this will be the third major show she is taking part in at the Laugh Bar this year.

Ruth, despite having started comedy a little later than her counterparts has gone on to establish herself as a force to reckon with. Alongside Nelly Wangechi, Ruth is one of the only two female stars of the Hot Seat, a celebrity roast show currently airing in showmax.

Last but not least, and arguably one of the biggest names in comedy, Justine Wanda is a literal comedy powerhouse. She has not only starred locally but also internationally. She has performed in such countries as Ghana, Uganda, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. She is the creator of satire news show, Fake Woke With Justine, Bwana Spokesman Live with Maina Munene and is one of the hosts of the Big Picture by African Uncensored alongside John-Allan Namu and Tom Mukhwana.

This lineup couldn’t have been more star-studded.

Tickets to Kugongwa ni constant are available to purchase via the Standup Collective website.
