Karura Comedy Club sold out its second-ever showcase in the city of Mombasa on Friday 28th February.
Taking place at Makaazi, a boutique restaurant stationed in Nyali, the show starred Ty Ngachira and Maina Munene who were co-headliners, as well as Bashir Halaiki and one guest comedian from Mombasa.
“We did it folks! Sold out show. Thanks to the killer headliners. We do it again on 28th March.” Emmanuel Kisiangani who is the founder of Karura Comedy Club posted on social media after the show.
This was the second successive sold-out show in 2024 for Maina Munene and a third for Ty Ngachira. Ty sold out back-to-back Saturdays at the Nairobi Laugh Bar with his concept show Acha Niseme Initoke with Maina doing the same with Bwana Spokesman Live less than a week before the Makaazi show.
Karura Comedy Club has recently stepped up its efforts to establish a base in the coastal region, a major entertainment and tourist hub and with a third show at Makaazi all but confirmed, it’s looking as though all the hard work is paying off.
