Comedians Justine Wanda and Amandeep Jagde will be taking the stage at an arts and mental health-themed event on Saturday, 25th January at Miir Restaurant in Kileleshwa.
The event, entitled Marebeta and Mental Health is a product of Vibe Curators in partnership with Capital FM and Let’s Bonga, a free online platform that fights mental health stigma by allowing people to share their mental health struggles anonymously. The program will run from 2 to 5 p.m.
The noble outing first took place in 2022 under the stewardship of Waithira Mbuthia-Protano, a writer, teacher and mental health advocate, and is coming back for a second edition.
Amandeep and Justine will perform alongside other creatives including poets and musicians in what shall be the opening segment of the event. Among the creatives will be Ayrosh, Muthoni Ni Mimi, Rabai On Sax, Dr. Reign, Timo G.K., and Freddie Max.
A panel discussion focused on highlighting various mental health subjects, conquering addictions, suicide prevention and destigmatization of mental illness shall then follow, led by Waithira Mbuthia-Protano, Fareed Khimani, Njeri Mucheru, Dr. Hope Simiyu and Anne Mwaura.
Entry to the event is free.
