After six years in the Kenyan comedy scene, Bashir Halaiki will finally be recording his first stand-up comedy special, entitled Halaiki.
The live taping will take place on November 1st at the Wangari Maathai Auditorium located at Alliance Française.
The project will be undertaken in partnership with Radio Generation, a radio station for which Bashir hosts an evening show alongside his fellow Kisiangani Podcast host, Emmanuel Kisiangani.
“For one night only @radiogenke presents a @halaiki Standup Comedy Special happening on the 1st of November @afnairobi (Wangari Maathai Auditorium).” Bashir captioned an Instagram post announcing the special on September 8.
Prior to the official announcement, the entertainer had teased the project through his social media platforms on several occasions.
Bashir is among the earlier cohort of comedians who ushered in the urban stand-up comedy scene as we know it.
Joining Bashir on stage on his special day will be comedians Titus Mutai, George Waweru, Nduta Kariuki, and Emmanuel Kisiangani.
Tickets are available to purchase via www.tikko.co.ke.
