Veteran comedians Ty Ngachira and Doug Mutai will be in Nakuru on Friday, 18th April for a two-man stand-up show at the Nakuru Player’s Theatre.
Dubbed Player’s Theatre Live, this will be the first time that the two acts are co-headlining a show.
Both entertainers are having a phenomenal year comedy-wise. Ty staged his concept showcase, Acha Niseme Initoke at the Nairobi Laugh Bar on two back-to-back Saturdays in February. The showcase, which also featured the dynamic duo of Justine Wanda and Maina Munene sold out on both occasions.
Ty also performed in Mombasa in the same month.
Doug Mutai on 15th March recorded his comedy special, Wine in front of a sold-out crowd at the Nairobi Laugh Bar. He will be looking to continue with a hot streak that has seen him host multiple sold-out shows at the Laugh Bar including Bwana Spokesman Live, Mzungu Madness and USAID What? by Akau Jambo.
The Nakuru trip is part of a wider campaign by outfits such as Standup Collective and Karura Comedy Club to host more comedy events outside of Nairobi.
Advance tickets to Player’s Theatre Live are retailing at Ksh. 800 and are available to purchase via the Standup Collective website.
