Shazz Nderitu Back On Stage

Shazz Nderitu is set to grace the stand-up stage for the first time this year when she hosts Maina Murumba’s upcoming show, Casino Monkey on Saturday 8th March at the Nairobi Laugh Bar.

The last time Shazz was on stage was in October 2024 when she hosted Rayhab Kihuha’s one-man outing, Baby Steps, at the Laugh Bar.

Before that, she had only made two other appearances on stage – In April and August when she hosted Comedy Culture’s KO Kraft Room monthly showcase and Greg Wahome and Eric Lu Savalis’s two-man show at the Beer District respectively.

Shazz, who has been performing stand-up since at least 2018 is one of the most experienced performers in the Nairobi English Stand-up Comedy scene.

She was a prominent figure within the scene and one of the most bankable comedians between 2018 and 2023 before she gradually stepped back only performing from time to time.

The March 8 adventure should be a welcome development amongst her fans but it remains to be seen whether she’s back for good or her appearance will just be one of her now-trademark cameos.

Tickets to Casino Monkey are available to purchase via the Standup Collective website.
