Karura Comedy Club’s monthly stand-up comedy showcase, The Comedy Jam, which takes place at Kez Organics in Kilimani will return on Friday 21st February 2025 after taking a break for the holidays last December.
On the bill will be comedians Amandeep Jagde and Adan Abdi as well as several guest performers who are yet to be announced.
Amandeep and Adan will be co-headlining.
Both acts, as well as Karura Comedy Club, have hit the ground running this year. Adan Abdi is currently on a break from his world tour, Slippery, which saw him perform in Cape Town – South Africa as well as two Kenyan cities – Nakuru and Mombasa last year.
Amandeep recently became the first Kenyan stand-up comedian to conduct a live screening of a comedy special when he did so for his comedy special Doggies, which he recorded in 2023. The screening took place at the Laugh Bar on January 31st. A second screening is scheduled for 15th February at Unseen Theatre in Kilimani.
In an effort to expand its reach, Karura Comedy Club this year secured a comedy room in Mombasa; Its first show, which was a Mombasa edition of The Comedy Jam took place on January 31st. More shows are scheduled for the coming months.
