Oluoch Kariuki will be recording his one-man act on Saturday 14th December at the Kenya National Theatre.
Entitled, The Jokes Shall Set You Free, the show will be the comedian’s first solo outing.
It’s a project that has been months in the making and was initially supposed to take place on September 7 in Kariuki’s hometown of Nakuru, but it got pushed back due to schedule constraints.
Through this special, Oluoch is aiming to document his growth and standing in the Kenyan stand-up comedy scene.
2024 has been a relatively busy year for the comedian. He took part in Punchline Comedy Club’s annual Comedy Festival in May. The festival, called Distant Relatives, brings comedians of black descent from all over the world for two nights of stand-up comedy in Nairobi.
Oluoch also recently did a tour of Uganda where he spent almost a week, performing at various spots across Kampala.
