Same Place Next Year? It’s The Last Winedown Wednesday Of 2024

The longest-running stand-up comedy open mic in Africa run by Punchline Comedy Club Nairobi will take its annual break after the night of Wednesday 11th December 2024.

The weekly open mic which takes place at Two Grapes, Kilimani on Wednesdays has been around since 2019 and will be looking to wrap up its fifth year in operation in style.

Winedown kicked off the year with a bang, entering into a partnership with liquor brand, Gilbeys who came in as its sponsor for several shows.

Known for nurturing young talent, the open mic has foreseen the growth of new comedians such as Bellamy Curtis and Arnold Savior, who might just be the hottest commodity in comedy right now.

Apart from local talent, the room has also seen its fair share of international comedians grace its stage this year.

Some big-name comedians who have performed at Winedown in 2024 include Leonardo Butindi, Evans Bukuku, Pepe, and Deo Gratius; all from Tanzania, as well as KG Mokgadi and Chris Mapane from South Africa.

Winedown’s last edition of 2024 will be hosted by Arnold Saviour.
