It’s looking as though Christmas has come early for Nairobi’s stand-up lovers as South Africa’s heavyweight, Vafa Naraghi is poised to make a surprise appearance at the Nairobi Laugh Bar this Wednesday, December 11.
The announcement was made through Nairobi Laugh Bar’s official Instagram page on Monday morning; it couldn’t have come at a better time seeing as Wednesday 11th is the eve of Kenya’s Independence Day.
The winner of two Savannah Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards has gained massive popularity in Nairobi since he first performed at Mama Rocks, Karen in August 2023, thanks to his frequent visits and collaborative works with some of Kenya’s top content creators including Mammito, Nicki Bigfish and Crazy Kennar.
Vafa was last in the country in September for his New Money tour where he headlined two sold-out nights at the Laugh Bar.
This impromptu showcase will see him take to the stage alongside Justine Wanda and Emmanuel Kisiangani, who will be on hosting duties. Justine and Emmanuel have both made recent trips to South Africa.
Tickets to the show are retailing at Ksh. 1, 200 for advance tickets and Ksh. 1, 500 for gate tickets and can be purchased via the Standup Collective website.
