Dr. Hilary Wows Crowd At The Nairobi Laugh Bar Despite Flight Delay

Ugandan sensation Dr. Hilary Okello performed at the Nairobi Laugh Bar on November 30, becoming the second Ugandan comedian to headline a show at the Laugh Bar this year.

His scheduled performance wasn’t without any challenges though as his flight was delayed for a few hours while he was still in Uganda forcing the show organizers, Standup Collective, to push back its start time by about an hour.

Ty Ngachira had to be on standby to take over the reins in case Dr. Hilary didn’t make it on time.

To keep the audience occupied, several comedians including David Macharia and Darren Collins, who performed as Santa, or Nicholas did pre-show spots.

By the time the main show began, Dr. Hilary hadn’t landed hence Ty had to be called up after opener Nduta Kariuki finished her set.

Dr. Hilary arrived as Ty was wrapping up his set and this being his night he had to go up, even though it was a little late, and he hadn’t had any time to refresh.

Despite all that, he went on to show why he is one of the best comics on the continent by taking the audience on a journey of hilarity, no pun intended. His performance was electric from start to finish and his material relatable.

After almost an hour on stage, the night, which had begun a bit shakily ended up being one of the best at the Laugh Bar in recent times.
