David Macharia is planning to do a live recording of his long-awaited comedy special.
Entitled David Macharia Vs The Boy Child, the live taping will take place at The Nairobi Laugh Bar on the 2nd of November.
The announcement was first made on November 27 when he released a lineup of shows and venues on his Instagram account that he will be performing at towards the end of November and the beginning of December.
The special has been a long time coming for the comedian who is a veteran in the scene having been one of the pioneers of English stand-up comedy in Nairobi.
David was initially meant to do a live special recording on July 11 at Carnivore but it was pushed back due to anti-tax demonstrations that rocked Nairobi in June and July.
Despite the setback, he has had a successful year comedy-wise. He recently sold out two non-consecutive shows at the Nairobi Laugh Bar; the first show, a cross-genre outing that incorporated music and the second one, a comedy roast battle between himself and Bashir Halaiki that was produced by Chuckle Cartel.
After the special recording, David is scheduled to perform in Mombasa and Voi on the 13th and the 14th of December respectively.
Entry to the live taping is through RSVP.
