Rahab Kihuha Delivers An Hour-long Pregnancy Special

Comedian Rahab Kihuha performed a one-hour comedy routine on Friday, the 11th at the Nairobi Laugh Bar.

The special, called Baby Steps, featured an all-female lineup, something that has only happened one other time this year when Punchline Comedy Club put together an all-female festival called Girls Aloud in March.

Baby Steps was however different as apart from documenting Kihuha’s journey of pregnancy, it also aimed to recognize the International Day of the Girl Child, which falls on the 11th of October.

Veteran comedian and host Shazz Nderitu was in her element as she captained the night effortlessly. Ciku Waithaka was the first performer to take to the stage. Then followed Racquel, Gaya, Ruth Nyambura and finally the woman of the night, Rahab Kihuha.

Donning a leopard print gown, as a means to pay homage to American comedian Ali Wong, Rahab dissected through her journey as a pregnant woman, occasionally going into crowd work which she did with utmost expertise.

Her performance also included a gender reveal at the end and celebrations that went into the night. Baby Steps was hands down a special to remember. You just had to be there!
