Winedown Wednesday at Two Grapes Kilimani – 21st August 2024
This is one of the longest running open mics in Kenya if not Africa, curated by Punchline Comedy Club Nairobi. This event promises an ideal date night venues where you can laugh and dine and get immersed into the social scene in Nairobi. Admission is exclusively by RSVP. Catch some of the hottest new comedians test their material every Wednesday with occasional surprise acts and new fresh ideas like comedy on the spot.

Giggles & Tickles Wednesdays at the Nairobi Laugh Bar – 21st August 2024
This open mic at Nairobi’s premier full-time comedy club the Nairobi Laugh Bar is another offering on Wednesday nights that promises hilarious comedic talent from some of Nairobi’s finest comedians. The comedy club setting makes this an ideal fit for comedy fans who already know what to expect. Admission is by RSVP. You can expect surprise drop-ins by some of the biggest comedians in Kenya.

Blacklisted Storytellers at Wasp and Sprout Loresho – 22nd August 2024
This is a storytelling event that happens fortnightly at the Wasp and Sprout in Loresho with different themes, comedians take it back and tell stories sometimes embarrassing ones cleverly sneaking in jokes. It is an ideal show for lovers of storytelling events. It is sometimes ticketed but proceeds from this event are donated to charity. Catch a laid back show that is both refreshing and lowkey funny.

Sets in the City at The 254 Beer District – 22nd August
This open mic event in the heart of Westlands is a pleasant addition to the Westlands night life offering. With a tight lineup of 10 comedians trying a mixture of new and tried material, you can be sure to enjoy a girl’s night out at this event or a date-night or just a lazy after work plan on a thursday. Jokes in a Bucket at The Nairobi Laugh Bar – 23rd August
This might be one of the most interesting comedy events because of it’s unpredictability, audiences write suggestions and prompts on pieces of papers then they are all put in a bucket where comedians pick these suggestions and make jokes on the spot. This audience participation makes jokes in a bucket a fun date night idea because you could even get relationship advice from a comedian, we do not recommend you follow that advice though. Tickets are ksh500.

Nairobi Laugh Bar Presents; Doug Mutai – 24th August
Nairobi Laugh Bar presents is a Standup Collective’s flagship shows through the Nairobi Laugh Bar where every weekend a headliner takes the stage alongside openers, this week comedy veteran and OG Doug Mutai hits the stage supported by George Waweru and Gakonyo Gathimba. Doug is one of the best comedians in Africa having performed at the Jo’burg International Comedy Festival and toured in Canada. Tickets are ksh1000 and are available on standupcollective.co.ke
